Now that Apple announced the launch of iPhone 3G S, can Palm Stand up in the competition or it already lost its edge. Lets take a closer look and compare these two upcoming models from long time rivals.

Palm Pre = very little is known about the battery life.
Besides the Hardware differences Palm OS provides “Multi-tasking†which is currently not supported by apple. Apple says multi tasking would drain the battery quickly as applications running in the background consume power. Apple has lot of app’s in Apple app store where as Palm has also its own app store, but it is now up to the developers at Palm, as to how much they can contribute.
Palm Pre runs on a ARM Cortex Processor at 600 MHz which is higher than the current iPhone 3G which runs on 400 MHz ARM 11 Processor,  Palm Pre is the only smartphone that can be called “iPhone Killerâ€.
So who wins, definitely with AT&T’s popularity and lots of applications in apple store and moreover after addressing those issues that were very annoying in 3G, Apple seems to have a clear upper hand. Still it would be interesting to see how Palm persues the competition and promotes its front runner, closely called “iPhone killerâ€.
