Nexus One Cracked Screen Repair available at Dr. Cell Phone
As totally awesome and exciting as the Nexus One might be, with any new device there are bound to be some growing pains – for instance, you might have heard about issues with the phone’s 3G connectivity. Well, Google has too and while the cause is less than clear, the company assures us it’s working feverishly to get to the bottom of it. Unfortunately, that isn’t the only problem newly minted Nexus One owners are noticing. According to a lively discussion on Google’s Android forum, some folks are experiencing extreme touchscreen calibration issues after cold booting the phone — problems that resolve themselves (temporarily) after putting the thing to sleep and then turning it back on. That said, the good folks at Google assure us they’re on the case. If it turns out that it’s a hardware problem, it’ll be covered under your warranty. Software? They’ll issue a patch for it.
If your Nexus One is not covered under warranty due to what Google might call misuse or physical damage, Dr. Cell Phone can help you with your HTC Nexus One Repair options. Most Repairs like Cracked Screen Replacement, USB/Charging Port Repair and 3G Connectivity issues can be fixed while you wait at one of our Dallas or Houston Locations. For folks outside Texas, we offer expedited mail-in Nexus One Repair Service with turn around time as low as one business day.

To no one’s surprise, Sprint kicked off CTIA 2010 here by announcing its first 4G phone.
Sprint EVO 4G Phone Repair to be made available at Dr. Cell Phone.
The HTC Evo 4G is not only the carrier’s first WiMax cell phone–previously the carrier only has offered 4G laptop cards and the Samsung Mondi — but also the first commercially available 4G handset with a major U.S. carrier.
The Evo runs Google Android OS 2.1; finally, a new Android phone meets the world with the latest Android OS available.
From the outset, the Evo is an attractive touch-screen device that closely resembles the HTC HD2. We got a taste of the Evo’s candy bar design when photos of the HTC Supersonic leaked in late January. And in the end, the final product doesn’t stray far from those initial impressions.
The massive 4.3-inch display is quite a looker. Its rich resolution and color support make for a pleasant browsing experience.

Verify that the issue is indeed with the Touch Screen rather than with the device freezing by attempting to use the Hardware Keys. If there is a response, continue troubleshooting as a Touch Screen issue. Is there a Screen Protector installed on the LCD? If so, remove it and test the response from the Touch Screen. Screen protectors can interfere with the sensitivity and accuracy of the Touch Screen.
HTC Tilt Touch Screen Repair Service available at Dr. Cell Phone
Attempt to re-align the screen by going to Start>Settings>System Tab>Screen and then tap on Align Screen or press and hold the Center Navigation key and then press the Internet Explorer Button. Note: To ensure accuracy, Screen Alignment must be completed using the device Stylus and no other object.
Does the issue coincide with a recent program addition (including skins, dialers, etc)?
If the issue began around the same time that you installed a 3rd party application(s) on the unit, remove the program(s) by going to Start>Settings>System Tab>Remove Programs:
HTC Tilt 3rd party application removal method
After all 3rd party applications have been removed, Soft Reset the device by inserting the tip of the stylus into the reset hole on the bottom of the device. Once the Soft Reset is complete, retest the unit.
If the issue is no longer present, add the 3rd party applications back one at a time, testing thoroughly after each add. If the issue returns after the installation of a 3rd party application, do not use that application and contact the provider to see what other options are available.
If the preceding troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, perform a Hard Reset on the device. The preferred method for a Hard Reset is via Start>Settings>System>Clear Storage however, if the device is frozen or the Touch Screen is unresponsive, the Hard Reset will need to be performed by pressing and holding the left and right soft keys while performing a Soft Reset. Warning: All data will be permanently deleted from the device during the Hard Reset process!!!
 HTC Tilt Hard Reset
Once the Hard Reset has been completed AND the automatic Customization process had been allowed to complete, the user will need to thoroughly test the unit; if the issue returns i.e the touch screen is still unresponsive then send in your phone to the expert technicians at Dr. Cell Phone for HTC Tilt Touch Screen Repair/Replacement.

Apple’s Discussion boards are buzzing with a huge problem affecting many users of iPhone OS. People are starting to call it: “White Apple Logo Screen of Death.”
White Apple Logo Screen of Death Repair at Dr. Cell Phone
The problem manifests itself during an app install or update. During either process something interrupts the iPhone and/or iTunes from completing the task. Then the iPhone spontaneously reboots. The screen goes dark, comes back on, displays the Apple Logo, and at some point the iPhone boots and it’s file system mounts. The file system mounting is noted by two short vibrations, beeps or both. The phone actually appears in iTunes and if you have an App on your Mac like Phoneview – you can actually browse the iPhone’s media. iTunes will also display the “beachball” and stop responding. iTunes usually has to be force quit in order to get it to respond by relaunching it. The iPhone unfortunately never boots past the Apple Logo. Most users panic at this point considering the iPhone to be “bricked. “
Many people are encountering this problem regardless of whether or not the install or update is being done on the iPhone itself or from iTunes. There simply is no rhyme or reason to it and it’s not the fault of any particular App. The worst part is that since some people think their iPhones are “bricked” they return it to the Apple Store. However, replacement phones exhibit the same problem.
If you fall victim to this bug, you can send in your iPhone to Dr. Cell Phone for a complete restore on the iPhone. This is a process that can take hours because of inordinately lengthy backup and sync times. Rest assured that usually your iPhone is not “bricked” only stuck in some kind of endless loop. In order to break this loop we need to do a factory restore of the iPhone.
Dr. Cell Phone now offers the software diagnostic and repairs at all of our repair stores in Dallas, Tx and Houston, Tx. If you are outside of Texas and would like to mail it in then Dallas location is the mail-in repair facility.

Motorola’s Droid has been by far the most popular Android smartphone to hit the U.S. market, selling at a faster pace than the first generation iPhone, and making up, by some accounts, at least 15% of all Android phones in use.
It was the first handset to launch with Android 2.0, a significantly redesigned version of Google’s mobile operating system, and it was the first Android device on Verizon, making it a popular choice for the wireless provider’s huge subscriber base.
Though it remains a very strong consumer device, the Droid’s popularity in the tech community was quickly overshadowed by Google’s Nexus One, which was launched only three months after it. The Nexus One became Google’s first attempt at directly selling smartphones, and the first handset with Android 2.1.

2.1 was only a minor platform upgrade, with no new features as substantial as those brought by 2.0, but it included full multi-touch support and tweaked the UI with eye-catching animated wallpapers and became an object of desire for Android enthusiasts. Read More

Almost 40 percent of BlackBerry users would switch camp to an Apple iPhone, a recent study into smartphone brand loyalty shows. Google’s Nexus One is almost as desirable, according to the study by Crowd Science (PDF link), which shows that a third of the BlackBerry users polled were willing to switch their device for the Android-based phone.

BlackBerry is still the most popular smartphone brand in terms of market share, Crowd Science’s study shows, but many Research In Motion devices users would be more than happy to move to a different smartphone platform if given the chance.
The study also found that the majority of smartphone users claim to use their devices for both business and personal purposes. BlackBerry users were the most likely (7 percent) to use their smartphone for business purposes only. But wait, there’s more!

Apple revealed a minor tweak to the iPad hardware when preorders began Friday morning, with a button previously designated for audio muting changed to a “screen rotation lock.”
As first noticed by Jim Dalrymple at The Loop, the switch, located just above the volume controls on the right side of the device, is now devoted to locking the screen orientation in its current state. Previously, the switch was used to mute the iPad.

One of the features Apple has touted with the iPad is that it can be used from any orientation the user sees fit. The new feature will prevent users from having the screen rotate unexpectedly as they use the device while browsing the Web, reading an e-book, or accomplishing any other task on the 9.7-inch screen.
“There isn’t even a single orientation,” Jony Ive, senior vice president of design with Apple, said in the iPad’s initial promotional video. “There’s no up, there’s no down, there’s no right or wrong way of holding it. I don’t have to change myself to fit the product. It fits me.”
Like with the iPhone and iPod touch, the internal accelerometer of the iPad automatically adjusts the display to fit the orientation by which the user is holding the device. The iPad allows even more functionality than with the previous products, granting users the ability to turn the iPad completely upside down, with the home button up top, if they so choose.
Because the iPad has a focus on reading e-books and newspapers, many users will undoubtedly use the device as they would a physical book or newspaper — objects that are sometimes read by users laying on their side. The screen rotation lock would prevent the device from shifting as a user moves around.
Additional physical inputs on the device are the on/off and sleep/wake button, volume up/down controls, and the home button.
Apple began accepting preorders for the iPad Friday morning. Purchases for the device, scheduled to ship April 3 for the Wi-Fi-only model, are limited to two per customer.
As soon as Dr. Cell Phone received the great news of having a Screen rotation lock on the Apple iPad 3G and Wi-Fi models, the experienced technicians who had been working on Apple iPhone and iPod’s started to look into fixing the Screen Lock button/switch.
” The Screen Rotation lock button might essentially have the same dimension and similar schematics connections on board, the logic on the board would be different, special chip would be on main board to achieve this new functionality” Said the senior technician at Dr. Cell Phone.

Apple is known for keeping a tight lid on any information related to its upcoming products. As a result, rumors fly high and it’s not until the day of release or the official announcement of a new product that the public knows for sure what’s coming from Apple. To that end, it’s no surprise that the latest rumor around the “iPhone 4G” supporting video calling is getting everyone excited.
Here’s some quick background information: video calling on the iPhone has been rumored for a while, and even before the iPhone 3GS made its debut, there were rumored photos floating around, depicting a spot for a front facing camera. Well, the 3GS has been out for a while now, so the people are hoping for a refresh in the form of the “iPhone 4G”. What makes these latest rumors around video calling a bit more possible, though, is that a substantial mobile operator in the UK seems to be the source of them.
iPhone Video Camera Repair or Replacement at Dr. Cell Phone
According to FSM.com, the UK’s O2 has updated its latest iPhone plans and in this update is the addition of prices for video calls. While that might be enough to get the rumors really flowing, the system files in the latest SDK are also showing the ability to do video calls.
All signs are definitely pointing towards video calls coming–at least to the UK. The bigger question will be whether or not AT&T will offer the video calling and if it does, will the network be able to handle it?
Recently AT&T mentioned that it wasn’t worried about its network’s ability to handle the traffic from the iPad since it figured most people would use it on Wi-Fi. With the next generation iPhone potentially offering video calling, one can only assume that AT&T will once again be called out for its network capacity issues.
As an iPhone user I would like the ability to do video calling but definitely don’t want to see my quality of service suffer. It seems that my iPhone is finally working the way I need it to on the AT&T network, but with the introduction of the iPad and the potential of video calling, my iPhone will no doubt suffer the consequences.

Here is a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for HTC G1 charging and Power Problems, for all the HTC G1 users who have problem charging their phone or have trouble holding charge on their phone. As you proceed with the basic diagnostic on your HTC G1, you will narrow down the problem to the exact issue. After you figure out the issue, you can try to fix it yourself but we do not recommend you taking apart the phone as that would void the warranty and could worsen the problem as well. We would recommend you arrange your phone to be fixed by one of the Dr. Cell Phone’s highly experienced Technicians.
HTC G1 Repair and Diagnostic at Dr. Cell Phone
Device will not power on
1.Inspect device & battery for signs of physical /liquid damage. If found, warranty is void.
2.Press & hold the Power key for 3 seconds to verify that the device will not turn on.
3.Check the USB Port for any bent or misshapen PIN’s.
If found, that is considered physical damage not covered under the Warranty.
4.Remove battery and inspect contacts.
Remove any debris/residue found on the device or battery contacts with a soft, dry cloth.
Look closely at the battery contacts on the phone to see if they are bent out of shape.
If some are found, that is the most likely cause and this is considered physical damage not covered under the Warranty.
5.Verify OEM Battery and Charger are being used.
Aftermarket batteries/chargers can damage the device and voice the warranty.
6.Attempt to charge the device/battery.
Charging is indicated by a solid amber light in the Notification LED. As the battery is being charged while the phone is on, the charging battery icon is displayed in the status bar of the Home screen. After the battery has been fully charged, the LED shows a solid green light and a full battery icon displays in the status bar of the Home screen.
7.If the device status light does not stay solid Amber or solid Green when the device is plugged in, try the following:
Plug the charger into a different power outlet.
Try a different device charger.
Try a different battery.
But wait, there’s more …..

Apple has taken legal action against phone maker HTC, alleging it has infringed patented technology.
HTC has been accused of infringing 20 patents owned by Apple that are used in the iPhone.
Apple said the patent infringements covered technology used in the iPhone interface as well as its “underlying hardware and architecture.”
HTC makes phones for many firms including Google and was behind the Nexus One handset.

In a statement Apple boss Steve Jobs said: “We can sit by and watch competitors steal our patented inventions, or we can do something about it.
“We’ve decided to do something about it,” he said. “We think competition is healthy, but competitors should create their own original technology, not steal ours.”
In its legal filing, Apple is seeking a lasting injunction which would effectively bar HTC from selling phones that use the disputed technology in the US.
The legal action has been filed with the US International Trade Commission and a district court in Delaware.
In its response to the legal action, HTC said it had only just learned about Apple’s legal action and has not had the chance to investigate the filing.
“Until we have had this opportunity, we are unable to comment on the validity of the claims being made against HTC,” it said in a statement.
In addition to making the Nexus One, the first handset to be branded by Google, HTC has also made several handsets that use Google’s Android operating system.
At the same time Apple is locked in legal action with Nokia. The Finnish phone giant sued Apple for patent infringement in October 2009, alleging it had stolen patented technology.
In response, Apple countersued in December 2009. Nokia launched a second round of legal action in the closing days of 2009.
