Sprint’s EVO 4G smartphone is set to launch on June 4th, and we’re gearing up to help service what promises to be one of the most popular smartphones – even rivaling the iPhone. One of the most exciting features? Access to Spring 4G coverage for EVO users in 27 cities around the country (and slated access to Miami, St. Louis, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, New York City, Houston, Boston, Washington, D.C., Kansas City, Denver, Minneapolis, and the San Francisco Bay Area by the end of the year).

Sprint Evo 4G specifications: Repair services to be available at Dr. Cell Phone

As Matthew Miller points out in his review of the Sprint HTC EVO 4G on ZDnet, the phone has amazing specs that other phones can’t touch: the EVO has a larger screen, 8 megapixel camera, and better video camera than its closest competitor, the newly-released HTC Droid Incredible. Sprint’s HTC EVO runs on the latest Google Android 2.1 OS – the latest Android operating system to date — among other cool HTC EVO features that we’ve previously covered.
And the EVO’s “FriendStream” is one of the most user-friendly aspects of the phone for social networking: a unified interface shows updates and allows users easy access to Facebook, Flickr, and Twitter. Look for a similar features from phones in the near future, as manufacturer’s aim to please our social networking infatuation.
The Sprint HTC EVO will be available at Radio Shack and Best Buy. Price tag: $199, with a $100 mail-in rebate and a 2-year voice and data contract. Activating the phone’s WiFi HotSpot functionality (which allows you to turn your phone into a WiFi HotSpot for up to 8 other users) will run you around $29.99 a month, and access to unlimited 4G and 3G data will cost an extra $10 a month on Sprint. Expect to see a run on this phone – the Sprint HTC EVO is definitely one of the most anticipated phones of 2010.
We’re excited to see the Sprint HTC EVO launch next week, and as always we’re keeping on top of the latest developments: Dr. Cell Phone plans to offer repair services for the Sprint HTC EVO beginning on June 4th, 2010 for both walk in customers at any of our repair centers, as well as mail-in repairs for nationwide customers.
