HTC has admitted to the brower issue with its HTC Droid Incredible and confirms that a simple factory reset does not wipe out the browsing history of its owner. While this may not be a serious problem unless you plan to sell your HTC Incredible or possibly send it in for repair, HTC advises that they are working on a software update that will be rolled out soon in order to rectify the problem.
HTC Incredible Software & Hardware Repairs available at Dr. Cell Phone
In the meantime, HTC has provided simple step-by-step instructions on how to clear your browsing history from the Droid Incredible.
HTC’s instructions to clear browsing history in the HTC Incredible:
- Go to the “Settings” menu
- Select “SD Card and Phone Storage”
- Select “Format Phone Storage”
*NOTE* This will delete all files in internal storage, including music and image files. So these files should be backed up before taking these steps.
Other Android devices with HTC Sense, like the DROID Eris, save these thumbnails to the SD card, instead of internal memory, so users can easily keep this information from being shared simply by removing the SD card from their device before trading in the device, sending in for repair, etc.
If for any reason this fix doesn’t work out the way it should and if you still happen to have problem with your HTC Incredible, send in your phone to Dr. Cell Phone Repair labs for Software diagnostic and fix. Dr. Cell Phone expert technicians and Software engineers will work out a solution for your phone.

Having iPhone 4 reception problems? Try adjusting your grip. That’s the advice from Apple CEO Steve Jobs, who yesterday responded to press queries about a possible antenna issue with a typically terse rejoinder: “Just avoid holding it in that way.”
Meanwhile, Apple PR issued a longer statement about the iPhone 4, reminding bloggers and journalists that all cell phones are vulnerable to antenna issues and urging consumers to consider purchasing a plastic case for their Apple handset.

“Gripping any phone will result in some attenuation of its antenna performance with certain places being worse than others depending on the placement of the antennas. This is a fact of life for every wireless phone,” Apple said in its statement. “If you ever experience this on your Phone 4, avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band, or simply use one of many available cases.”
As we reported yesterday, Apple was slammed with complaints yesterday about a range of issues with the new iPhone 4, including a yellow blotch – possibly glue residue – which appears under the screen glass of some iPhone 4s. But the most buzzed-about iPhone 4 problem was fuzzy reception. Many reported that if they gripped the iPhone 4 on the bottom left corner – or with their left hand – the reception quickly tailed off.
“I have [an iPhone] 3G phone and an iPhone 4 sitting side by side and the 3G will have full service and the iPhone 4 either says searching, no service, or has 1 or 2 bars,” one of our readers, “Ziggy,” wrote yesterday.
“Jose” wrote to us that he “bought my iPhone 4 yesterday in France, and I got both problems, the reception drops to nothing when holding the phone, and the yellow blob across the screen.”
While most of our commenters had negative anecdotes, reader “Mikeyp” said that, “My service works lovely in [Virginia]. No problems with my reception (knock on wood).”
Still, reception issues seemed unlikely to sink the launch of the iPhone 4, which was off to a good start yesterday. USA Today reports that Apple outlets in dozens of cities around the country – including Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles – had sold out of the iPhone 4, as had BestBuy and RadioShack.
Though Apple would avoid one of the most important issues on iPhone 4, the reception problem by suggesting the users not to hold their iPhone 4 in a certain way. Dr. Cell Phone is committed to diagnosing the issues with the hardware and providing Repair Solutions, as they do with HTC and other models. If you think just holding the phone in a certain angle doesn’t solve the reception (signal) problem, you can bring it in to one of Dr. Cell Phone’s repair centers to have your iPhone diagnosed for possible Antenna problems.

Apple said on Wednesday that it and its partners took more than 600,000 orders on Tuesday for its new iPhone 4, which will be released next week. AT&T, its wireless partner in the United States, said it was suspending preorders for the phone.

“It was the largest number of preorders Apple has ever taken in a single day and was far higher than we anticipated, resulting in many order and approval system malfunctions,” Apple said in a statement. “Many customers were turned away or abandoned the process in frustration. We apologize to everyone who encountered difficulties and hope that they will try again or visit an Apple or carrier store once the iPhone 4 is in stock.”
The Web sites of both Apple and AT&T were overwhelmed by the demand on Tuesday, and AT&T could not process electronic orders at its stores for much of the day. Although Apple is still accepting preorders online, its Web site no longer promises delivery on the phone’s release date, June 24. Customers who place an order online on Wednesday may receive their phones on July 2.
Mark Siegal, an AT&T spokesman, said preorder sales for the iPhone 4 were 10 times higher than on the first day the iPhone 3GS was available for ordering last June. He said AT&T would suspend new orders for the time being.
“Given this unprecedented demand and our current expectations for our iPhone 4 inventory levels when the device is available June 24, we’re suspending preordering today in order to fulfill the orders we’ve already received,” Mr. Siegal said. “The availability of additional inventory will determine if we can resume taking preorders.”
Mr. Siegal said more than 13 million people visited AT&T’s Web site on Tuesday to see if they were eligible to upgrade to the new phone, roughly three times higher that the company’s previous record.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs on Monday introduced the newest version of the company’s popular smartphone: iPhone 4.
“We think it’s the biggest leap we’ve taken since the original iPhone,” Jobs told an enthusiastic audience at the company’s annual developers conference. “We’re really proud of it.”
iPhone 4 Announced: Repair Service coming soon at Dr. Cell Phone.
The phone will come in two colors — black and white — and will go on sale June 24 in the United States and four other countries. It will cost $199 for 16GB of storage and $299 for 32GB.
Jobs said iPhone 4 will be “the thinnest smartphone on the planet” at 9.3 mm thick — 24 percent thinner than the iPhone 3GS, the company’s current model. It’s been designed with a glass back and metal around the sides.
The device will have a front-facing camera for video conferencing, and the camera on the back will have an LED flash, Jobs said. The phone will have a 5 megapixel camera with a backside illuminated sensor, which he said is fairly new to smartphones. It also will have a 5X digital zoom. , Read more
